The main responsibility of the Dedicated Relief Security Officer is to carry out duties at all posts in the Hammersmith Office.
The jobholder should possess excellent interpersonal skills, as they are required to provide front of house, reception support, meet & greet visitors, support offsite assignments and interact with colleagues and staff at all levels both verbally and in writing.
You must possess the ability to accurately interpret and follow a wide range of prescribed processes and procedures relating to the security of the facility.
You must be able to work, days, nights & weekends covering staff absences (holidays, sickness). You may at times be required to provide cover at short notice.
An experienced Security Officer, with exceptional customer-focus, you will carry out a range of duties including:
- To be fully conversant with site emergency evacuations procedures.
- To maintain complete, concise, and accurate written accounts of all incidents occurring within the duty shift and undertake any necessary follow up action as required.
- Access control and ID verification where required.
- Monitor and answer fire emergency telephone.
- Any additional reasonable duties requested by operational management.
- Must be available to work shifts days and nights.
- To respond to pre-planned or significant events and to provide an initial first response to any such events.
- Identifying suspicious, criminal events and ensuring an effective guarding response.
- Patrol the site to prevent fire, flood, theft, and damage.
- Comply with GDPR and Data security requirements.
- Provide details of incidents to the Control Room for the purposes of incident reporting.
- Respond to first aid incidents.
- Support the security team with requests of personnel on offsite assignments.
- This is an ad hoc position covering annual leave and absence, hours of work may vary but shift patterns are normally 12 hours duration, covering Monday – Sunday.
However, as part of a small team you will need to be flexible to support your colleagues.
Substantial experience as a Corporate Security Officer is essential, and to succeed in this role you will also need:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service, team working and collaboration skills
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- The ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports
- Competent IT and administration skills including MS Outlook, Word & Excel
- Professional appearance and demeanour
- Willingness to undertake development training
- An SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license
- Five years’ checkable history and references
- To pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards
The following would also be useful but are not essential:
- A First Aid at Work qualification
- An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) qualification.
