ICTS – Corporate Security Officer – Edinburgh, Scotland

In this high-profile Security Officer role, you will ensure the safety and security of the people and property at a prestigious financial client’s site in the centre of Edinburgh.

The successful applicant will have security industry experience and be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and colleagues confidently.

This is a permanent role within ICTS. Hours of work may vary but shifts are normally 12 hours’ duration, working a ‘4on/4off’ shift pattern (4 days, 4 rest, 4 nights, 4 rest) and starting at either 7am or 7pm. A 24/7/365 operation, you will need to be reliable and flexible: to support your colleagues and the business needs.

You must have current SIA credentials and a minimum of the Emergency First Aid at Work (inc. AED) qualification.

 You will carry out a range of duties including:

• Managing access control across the site - for employees, visitors and contractors
• Performing static duties and foot patrols, to deter and detect problems
• Responding to customer requests and queries including the reporting of lost or found property
• Checking and challenging ID passes with a professional, friendly, and problem-solving approach
• Unlocking and locking buildings, rooms, external barriers and gates to ensure that no unauthorised personnel or hazards are on site
• Identifying and reporting Health & Safety issues and carrying out First Aid when necessary
• Maintaining records including incident reports, using computer and paper-based systems
• Being observant to the threat of hostile actors or situations; and be knowledgeable about the processes, policies and personal response expected, when such incidents occur
• Responding to Critical Incidents such as Fire Evacuation, Medical Emergency, and Building Lockdown.
• Completing regular training and knowledge-checks, to maintain Continuous Professional Development

Substantial experience as a Corporate Security Officer is essential, and to succeed in this role you will also need to display:

• Excellent verbal, written, and numeracy skills: which will be tested at interview
• Strong customer service, team working, and collaboration skills
• The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• The ability to deliver succinct and clear, verbal and written reports
• Competent IT and administration skills including MS Outlook, Word & Excel
• A highly professional appearance and demeanour
• A willingness to undertake development training, for example, to attend and pass the 3-day, First Aid at Work course
• An SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) licence
• Five years’ checkable history and references
• Passing vetting including a Criminal Records Check (CRC) to the required standards
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK
